Thomas was awarded with the Nederlands Muziekprijs in 2022. He made several CD’s, with works by a.o. Albéniz, Falla, Granados, Mozart, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Rudolf Escher and Frank Martin, as well as his own compositions. His most recent CD, in collaboration with Camerata RCO, led by the Chinese conductor Yu Lu, features Poulenc’s piano concerto Aubade.

Thomas’ most recent compositions include a concerto for jazz violin and orchestra, written for Julia Philippens of Fuse. And a song cycle ‘A Lock without a Key’-songs inspired by the COVID-19 lockdown- composed for soprano Laetitia Gerards.

Besides his career as a pianist and a composer, Beijer is a visual artist and an author. In 2017 he made his debut as a novelist with Geen Jalapeños. Currently, he is working on a collection of music essays.

Since 2019, Thomas Beijer has been artistic director of the Young Pianist Foundation.
