Mikrokosmos is a new music project created and performed by us – Fuse – (hi!), in close collaboration with 12 composers. It’s a 12-track musical cycle and a concert tour with live visuals and light-art.
A cycle, why/what?
Ever since recording our third studio album in 2018, it has been a dream of us to make an album with only new music. After fantasizing about this for a while, it became clear that this should be a collaboration with multiple composers, since we are inspired by so many different styles and artists. But we didn’t want it to be just a random selection of songs.
In music, the cycle is defined as individual pieces that aggregate into a larger work – so that was quickly decided đŸ˜‰ The next step was to find a communal element between us and the composers, and this became the artistic foundation for Mikrokosmos.
The 12 pieces are inspired on 12 phases of a human life: we are born, make our first steps, learn to interact with others, grow up, we get inspired, play, create, fall in love, go through crisis, evolve, expand and dissolve. These chapters are a starting point for our creative journey with the composers; a conversation starter creativity, music and well..life.
New album & live show
The result will be audible on the Mikrokosmos album, to be released early 2024 on CD and Vinyl. In fall 2023, we will play 4 exclusive concerts in collaboration with visual artist and scenographer Frouke ten Velden.
Visuals & Arwork
Visually Mikrokosmos is coming to live with the help of two amazing artists.
For the liveshows, we are joined by Frouke ten Velden, who will be taking on the experiment with us and create brand new light-art and visuals. Read more about Frouke here
All the artwork is from the mind of Nick Liefhebber. Read more about Nick here
