JacobTV (Jacob Ter Veldhuis) shook up the Dutch modern classical music landscape in the late 90’s with his ‘Boombox’ works, in which he placed speech samples from American media against the sound of traditional instruments. Jacob started his musical endeavour as a rock musician and studied composition and electronic music with Luctor Ponse and Willem Frederik Bon at the Groningen Conservatory. He received the Composition Prize of the Netherlands in 1980 and became a full time composer ever since.
We were introduced to Jacob when he wrote a short piece for a TV-recording a few years back. Later we performed his ‘Syracuse Blues’ which you can watch below.
In 2016 we invited Jacob to collaborate on the first ever title song for a book: Vector. It was later released on our debut album.
