In the first months of the pandemic, when (from a work-perspective) everything was about cancelling, some positivity was hard to find. At that time, we heard Nathalie in an online talk speak about finding your voice as an artist. Watching her making some convincing statements inspired us to continue our Mikrokosmos project. Nathalies piece for the album is a very personal work that abstractly examines the act of reclaiming ones roots. In 2022, Nathalie was even able to visit us in The Netherlands. Working with us on her ideas for ‘Expand’ and performing with us at the Amsterdam BIMhuis, where we played some of her tracks of her Fanm D’Ayiti album.
